This is a great slideshow of all our NCHPA members that we have lost over the years. We do not want to forget them so this will let us enjoy the moments we had with them

Cas goes back a long way. I pitched Cas in a fun tournament back in the 70's and he very rarely missed coming to Indian Valley every year.

What a guy, HUCKE, I met Hucke when I was trying to organize our club. He sold me a pair of shoes with all the ringers taken out of them. Found out later I could have bought a new pair for what I paid him, LOL
Hucke always attended Indian Valley every year with his wife along with him and she always kept score
Good old Joe, no one will ever forget Joe. What a hard worker for the Stockton club
What a fun guy, Morris Miller. You could hear him whistling all over the courts and you always knew when Morris was there by the footprints drawn on the approaches
Morris always attended the Indian Valley tournaments and had me make him a shirt one time. It read "Of all the things I lost I miss my mind the most"

"Dirty" Ernie Harris, he was nicknamed Dirty Ernie from the Gold Country Club and Jim Keyes again from the Feather River Club

Thelma, she was a super person and I will always remember her and Edna helping me put on my first tournament in Indian Valley, as I knew nothing about it Edna's last name I believe was Stork
Willie Bradford on the left with John I knew both of these guys from our work. I pitched both of them in company picnics, of course John is still going and was pitcher of the year again in 2008.
Bambi, she only pitched league but was a very great person. Bambi lost a long battle with Diabetes.

We just lost Frank Spencer at the early age of 63. He will be missed by all for sure. Born June 14, 1945 and entered into rest on October 18, 2008.

Jim Hayes (J C) from Shingle Spring. In 1996 he won the World Championship in Class H-2
Monte Latino from Sacramento Club. Monte was always a top notch pitcher and coached all the younger pitchers, also he was a 2 time Intermediate World Champion. Monte pitched in Indian Valley many times.
Earl Rapp from the Reedley Cub and Later went to the Tulare Club a real gentleman on the courts.
Bill Harris, Bill just lost a hard battle with Cancer. He had been fighting the big "C" for a couple of years
Lillian Lloyd from Tri Valley Club. Lillian and Bob were frequent visitors to the Indian Valley Courts and on the way home one week end they almost got killed just out of Oroville. A guy pulled right out in front of them.
Walt and his wife Muriel Foreman. Walt and his wife pitched in Indian Valley many times. I had the pleasure to pitch with Walt as he was always in my group. A super person for sure.
Ceres Perry from Tri Valley Club. He was the only person to hit the overhead beams at the 1988 World Tournament in Pleasanton, CA. I thought Art Tyson and I were the only ones with a high shoe.

Oh yes Shorty Stratton. Anyone that ever met Shorty will never forget him, what a guy. I wished I had a sound track of his game pitching Bill Bortelli at state in Davis. I kept score for them and was in tears.
Oliver Smith on the left and was very involved in our sport, he was instrumental in developing Natstat software. On the right is Eddie Garcia from S. Calif, he pitched in Indian Valley one time also. He used to pick up beer cans to recycle before it was so popular. Eddie when I pitched him pitched a Diamond Super ringer shoe with a flop.

And lets not forget Char Sorg. Very active in our sport and held offices and sure did her part. This was taken in 1986 Riverside at the State Championships
Now we have lost both of these wonderful people, Char and Lillian. As you see from this photo Char always had a good time.
Char Sorg again. When Char first pitched at the Indian Valley courts, she fell in love with the area and promoted our club and never missed a year after that.
Char in Ukiah. When Char promoted our courts in Indian Valley we only had 12 courts then and pitched 147 people in one week end, I told her SHHHHHHHHH. quiet. We had three go rounds until 10:30pm

We just lost Bill Milligan in November of 2009, he will be missed by all and was a member of the Vallejo Club.
We lost Paul Anzelone at a very young age of 59. He will be missed by all that knew him and was a member of the Stockton Club. We lost Paul in July of 2006

We lost Glenn Jamieson, Glenn was a very active member of the NCHPA and the NHP and will be missed by all. Glenn had a heart attack and passed on at 8:20 am on June the 7th, 2010.
Bill Brown we lost on May 15th, 2010. Bill was a very good friend of mine and I pitched Bill many times. Bill was my taxi during the 1988 world we held there. He drove me to town to do my shopping. What a great guy
We have lost another fine person on May the 15th 2010, Bill Brown. Bill will be remembered by many that had the pleasure to pitch with him.
Bill was a coach and leader for many new pitchers. His star pupil was Linda Hoelscher from their club.
Thor Jenson we lost on June 30th, 2010. All these players are so close to me as I had pitched them for many years. I used to pitch the Alameda County Fair for many years.
What a gentleman he was, he will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him

Everyone must remember Marguerite. What a wonderful woman and very active in horseshoes. Her husband Bill died a few years back and they always attended the year end meetings that I went too. I can remember dancing with Marguerite at one of the year end dinner and dancing. She will be missed by many for sure.
Nick Garcia one of our last junior pitchers at Indian Valley Horseshoe Club took his own life by hanging. So sad as Nick was a great pitcher and when pitching league with us won an award for pitching one of the highest games with handicap in the entire NHPA. I took his picture and got him recognition in our local news paper.
We just lost another pitcher. Starbuck had pitched at our tournaments in Indian Valley. I remember him showing me a trophy he had won at another tournament. He said he got "Turd Place" it was a turn painted gold.
He will be missed by all that knew him he was a great guy and a great personality.
